Low-Growing Eremophila plants are compact, spreading shrubs, dominated by prostrate and low forms of Eremophila glabra. While they are sometimes described as groundcovers, they are better understood as low native shrubs, usually growing below 70 cm high and spreading around 1–2 metres wide.
Unlike true groundcover Eremophila, most of a low-shrubs structure is held above the soil surface. This creates useful shelter for small garden wildlife while still giving gardeners a low, spreading plant with added height for dry garden beds, embankments, borders and habitat-focused native gardens.
